No, people don't "work hard" to get their salary taxed

Let's put tax cuts in terms everyone can understand. Suppose that every day, ten men go out for dinner. The bill for all ten comes to $100.

If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh $7.
The eighth $12.
The ninth $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do.

The ten men ate dinner in the restaurant every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve.

"Since you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily meal by $20."

So, now dinner for the ten only cost $80. The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes.

So, the first four men were unaffected. They would still eat for free. But what about the other six, the paying customers? How could they divvy up the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share'?

The six men realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being 'PAID' to eat their meal.

So, the restaurant owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33% savings).
The seventh now paid $5 instead of $7 (28% savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to eat for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.

"I only got a dollar out of the $20," declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man "but he got $10!"

"Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man. "I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than me!"

"That's true!!" shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $10 back when I got only $2? The wealthy get all the breaks!"

"Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison. "We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!" The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for dinner, so the nine sat down and ate without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important.

They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up at the table anymore. There are lots of good restaurants in Europe and the Caribbean.

Salam & Hello ladies!

Seriously, I've never hosted a party before, but someday I will. Aiyyay! By the way for party outfit for me, I need a little glitter, a little sequin maybe? just something unusual, gotta be glamorous and all, no?

Comfort is also important as if there is dance floor, you don't wanna be dancing and your tube dress falling or your hijab to be messy ayy.

Anyway, I have this little dream, you know, having a party for ladies only, of course, usual party, but with some disco balls, loud music, great food, for only ladies, close relatives, or just some close best friends & all dressing up sexily but still covering the aurah between ladies. Ain't it gonna be great? We've had this idea with my mom & sister for a while but not yet a reality. Nvm, someday will be. =) Let's admit it, after all, we all need a little party, did I hear a yes?

Awww how time flies! It's been great 4 days, and it's day 5 already! T.T

I don't want HFW to end :[ but nvm, life has to go on~ So for Jummah, I'd absolutely wear abaya, or baju kurung, or loose outfit :] Actually for 20 years of my life, (19 years 9 months;p) I've only gone to Jummah once *face palm* & it was when I was in Mecca & I'm pretty sure I wore an abaya.

By the way, as much as I love my nude platform heels, I'm gonna be selling it, gonna update it at my secondhand blogshop very very soon! So do follow that page lovelies if you've been eyeing on it ;)

# Day 3 - Work Out Wear

Salam & Hello ladies!

The only work out I love and been doing quite regularly is kickboxing! It's something I call love, & that gloves, they're my baby!

It's pretty sad how women do not appreciate martial arts as much as guys do :[ I think it should be balanced though. The proof? Sometimes, in the kickboxing studio, I'm the only girl. Hmmm & always the only hijabi. Well a few times before there were hijabis :] But that's not the matter, the matter is we should all, the GIRLS get our ass off the couch and learn martial arts, learn the techniques, do not simply give up and believe you are weak to fight against crime ♥

And ohhh btw! Haha I don't wear heels to kickboxing, yes I could but I dont, we don't use shoes in the studio thou. I just wear flip flop usually, and to be honest, I didn't wear the inner shirt. =( Heh, But InsyAllah some day I'll try. =)

To be a little fashionable in work out wear, do play with colours & looking at other participants now I'm inspired to wear harem pants to work out some day! Ayyay!

# Day 2 - Formal Attire

For formal attire, as I'm away from home, and a lot of my attires for traditional/cultural events or even for weddings are mostly back in Sabah, I chose to go for the black tie event, as it's also listed in the description by Em (founder of HFW). So yeah this is what I'd wear to a black tie event!

Actually I wore this dress to someone's prom ;) , it was a very last minute shopping, yes you could imagine how pressured I was, having to choose the dress for the limited time :| but anyway, I love it! I love how simple & elegant it looks at the same time and the details on the dress.

# Day 1- Work Wear (professional environment)

Salam & Hello ladies! =)

So as I am still a student, I've never had any experience working, sadly :[ especially in professional environment, used to be cupcakes seller/baker/decorator, yes. haha. but emm anyway, this is actually what I wore to a Business Plan Competition by F&N that I joined last year, for semi final stage, had to do a presentation in front of the judges and the theme was formal wear, but at that time, I did put on a black blazer & no suspenders ;) & no make up sadly (I woke up late!) though you couldn't see my make up, but err for professional environment, I'd suggest simple make up! or a bit dramatic for simpler style?

But frankly, for Work Wear, because of lack of budget, sadly again, I had to go for my black skinny, but if I had money I'd definitely go for wide legged black pants! like the one in the photo below.

As I'd loooove to be a successful entrepreneur with style *wink, so this is businesswoman look? Bag should be more formal I guess, pardon me, I love criticizing my own style -_-"

Suspenders is loooove, I think. It smells geeky. It smells work wear. It smells fun! So why not? When I think of formal wear, it's always black and white, yes? (yeah business people are that boring, nvm I'm on my way. hehe) So a little colour has no harm too right? =)

The Serial Splash-and-Run Acid Splashers

So I bet it's becoming a very hot topic nowadays yes?

So let us all spread the news and becoming extra extra extra alert and careful whenever we are out. According to New Straits Times May 19, 2011, this phenomenal occurrence has started since February 9, and last attack was few days ago, I believe, after May 19.

The splashers have attacked 23 times, NOT 23 women, but 39 people involved, untill 18 May. Mostly women with fair complexion, but yes they did attack men and kids.

Latest cases reported were in Summit and before that, in Shah Alam, making the total to be 25 times. Please do not ever feel safe if your place never been attacked before, they could be anywhere, I believe.

They attack people RANDOMLY as in no matter you're alone, in a group, in a car or at the side of the road, they don't give a damn, they just splash acid when they feel like i guess. -__-"

So please please please be very alert of your surrounding, and be triple extra careful everytime you're out.

Description of Attackers:

-Dark Skinned

-20s to 30s

-1 is thin 1 is chubby

-They approach victims from behind before splashing the acid in their face, several victims said the splasher threw the liquid from a bottle

-Type of motorcycle used : blue Suzuki RG, Honda EX5, Honda Cub, blue Modenas Kriss, blue Suzuki RGV, and blue Suzuki cub.

*I wonder if it's just them two, if yes, how can they have that many motorcycles, really? hmm but anyway guys, just be careful to EVERYONE on motorcycles, no matter what the color, what motorcycle that is, what body size, just try to AVOID MOTORCYCLES as much as you could.

What to do :

-Avoid walking by the side of the road; NO JOKE guys, try to avoid it as much as you could, and if you wanna cross the road, check if there's any motorcycle, if only there's none, you can safely cross the road.

-Always bring your umbrella; at least, if you have no choice but to walk by the side of the road, you can cover yourself, making it impossible for them to splash the acid on you!

-Always bring a bottle of water in your bag; water is the best remedy to counter the corrosive acid, If, in case, someone is splashed with acid, pour as much water as possible onto affected area especially eyes! Keep on doing it until the acid has been diluted and washed away.

-Try not to go out if you could;but don't worry too much, life must go on =) just make a du'a for muslims before going out/ pray to God so that He'll protect us and others. God willing.
